I am a/the __official capacity__ working on __project/scope__ .  I am trying to gather base data 
for urban design projects.  I found your name on the town of _______ web site, __URL__.  I 
would appreciate it if you could direct me the right person to ask concerning questions of data 
availability for your area.  


It would be very useful for our project to have the following layers:


Planimetric building footprints (with heights, if available)

Paved area polygons or edge of pavement.

Parcel Boundaries with owner, use class, assessed land and building values.

Drainage linear features and polygons.

Elevation information in contours, terrain breaklines or raster elevation model.

Georeferenced orthophotographs.


For each layer, it would be very useful to have whatever explanatory documentation you may 
have that describes the coded field values and the date that each layer was collected.

I understand that you may not have all of this information, but lacking a list of layers to choose 
from, this list covers the general classes of layers we are interested in.  If there is a list of the 
layers that are maintained by your town, I would be more than happy to put my request in 
terms of the exact layer names that you use.

As always, we will be sure to attribute your organization in any products we make with your 
data, and will honor any requiremtns you have regarding re-sharing of the data.
